Ball Pilates
Ball Pilates is adapting the Pilates Method to the exercise ball. Using a large ball to add resistance, challenge and variety to the mat work. Some of the exercises have been adapted from the Pilates apparatus as well as the fitness circle and barrels.
Pilates on the Ball is a combination of muscle toning and strength exercises with an emphasis on flexibility and relaxation. Originally invented by Joseph H. Pilates, this mind-body method of exercise builds strong abdominals, improves posture and coordination, and builds long lean muscles.
Exercise Balls can be used in a variety of different ways in Pilates. Exercising with a ball requires constant balance to maintain stability, and compels the user to engage many more muscle groups
